Canyon Flowers
By Kaylene Big Knife
Mood: A soft, earth-toned design layered with Chippewa Cree floral designs radiating from the centered sun. A treeline and stars accent the geometric patterns based on ribbon work and contemporary regalia. Flowers can be found in the canyons, with brown and red layers telling us stories of times that have long since passed. ❀❀❀❀ I originally designed this for a powwow dance special for a family in Rocky Boy, Montana. I've since taken the artwork and remastered the color palette, design, and layout to reflect my fondness for the Southwest. I've spent many years in New Mexico and Arizona attending college, and the canyons, terrain, plants, and overall landscape feel like home to me. I designed the layout to appear as a blanket, and with the sun in the center, the artwork pulls you in and guides your eye in a circular pattern like you're visiting a canyon, looking up at the sun. This print can be purchased in the following three options: a poster, a Giclee print, and a framed Giclee print.
